1. ABFF PLAY STREAMING
1.1 What Is ABFF PLAY?

ABFF PLAY is a live and on demand streaming service offering free and pay per view events showcasing Black content, culture and creativity. The platform offers rentals of premium independent films and pay-per-view events that include stand-up comedy specials, stage plays and concerts as well as virtual festivals. ABFF PLAY also features exclusive content from American Black Film Festival (ABFF) events and spotlights the work from emerging artists including short films, web series and podcasts.

2. STREAMING CONTENT
2.1 What Live Content is available on ABFF PLAY?

ABFF PLAY offers pay-per-view events that include stand-up comedy specials, stage plays and concerts as well as virtual panels and conversations.

2.2 What on Demand Video content is available on ABFF PLAY?

ABFF PLAY offers VOD content from American Black Film Festival (ABFF) events and spotlights the work from emerging artists including short films, web series and podcasts.

3. DEVICES
3.1 On what devices can I access ABFF PLAY?

The service is available on the following devices:

  • Desktop: PC and Mac – the website is available on all modern desktop browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Internet Explorer 11+
  • Mobile Devices: Available on iOS and Android smart phones and tablets
3.2 Can I view on multiple devices?

No – your ABFF PLAY membership allows you to watch video content on one device at a time. You can have multiple login sessions open simultaneously but will not be able to watch multiple videos at the same time. If you receive the following message “You are currently watching a video on another device” you will need to close your previous session and refresh your device/browser to begin watching content on a separate device.

4. ACCOUNT & BILLING
4.1 How Do I Reset My Password?

If you have forgotten your password or need to unlock your account, go to the ABFF PLAY login screen and click the link that says, “Forgot your username or password?” Enter the e-mail address associated with your ABFF PLAY account and you will receive an e-mail with a link to reset your password.

4.2 How do I request my information from ABFF PLAY?

Please contact us using from the email account associated with your subscription. In the Email subject line state: “Right to Access under Art 15 GDPR” and in the email state: “I hereby request all information I am entitled to under Article 15 GDPR that is associated with my account. If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me.” It is likely that someone might get back to you requesting further proof for identity verification.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING STREAMING & TECHNICAL ISSUES
5.1 Network Connectivity:

One of the most common issues seen by ABFF PLAY users is that of weak and interrupted internet connectivity within their home Wi-Fi Networks. If you see constant buffering or loading circles or frequent changes in the quality of your streams, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart your browser, device and home Wi-Fi Network
    • Close the browser that had ABFF PLAY open / the ABFF PLAY app
    • Shut down your device
    • Unplug your Wi-Fi router/modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your Wi-Fi router/modem back into power
    • Restart device, open ABFF PLAY app in browser
  2. Improve your Wi-Fi Signal
    • Move to a more central location / closer to your device
    • Move Wi-Fi router away from other wireless devices (microwaves) to avoid interference
    • Move router off the floor
  3. Connect your computer directly to the modem
    • Close the browser that had ABFF PLAY open
    • Shut down your computer
    • Unplug your modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your modem back into power
    • Turn computer on, plug computer into modem via ethernet cable
    • Open ABFF PLAY in a browser

If none of the above work, and you continue to have the same issues, please consider contacting your Internet Service Provider.

5.2 Desktop Browser Issues:

When trying to access a live ABFF PLAY event, if you are seeing a continuous loading circle or connection error within the video player, this may be resolved by signing out of ABFF PLAY, clearing your web browser’s cache, and relaunching the browser.

5.3 iPhone/iPad issues:

For any issues on the iOS app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:

  • Check the app for any updates
  • Remove the app from your device
  • Restart your device
  • Reinstall the app on your device
  • If fails again try switching Wi-Fi connect

If you continue to have trouble, install any available updates for your iOS. If these suggestions do not resolve the issues you are encountering, please try accessing the app through a different network or Wi-Fi connection to see if the same issues occur. 5.4 Android issues:

For any issues on the Android app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:

  • Check the app for any updates
  • Remove the app from your device
  • Restart your device
  • Reinstall the app on your device

If you continue to have trouble, install any available software updates. If these suggestions do not resolve the issues you are encountering, please try accessing the app through a different network or Wi-Fi connection to see if the same issues occur.

5.5. System Requirements:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • A broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) of 750kbps or higher is needed for ABFF PLAY If you have an internet connection speed of 5.0Mbps or higher and your computer meets the requirements below, you will be able to enjoy ABFF PLAY content at its highest video quality.

MINIMUM WINDOWS REQUIREMENTS

  • Pentium III 1GHz or higher or equivalent AMD processor with a minimum of 512MB of memory.
  • One of the following operating systems: Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Media Centre Edition, or Firefox v1.5 or above:
